We arrived in the evening (and in the rain) so it was extra helpful that Pat provided more accurate directions than our GPS, otherwise we would have been in trouble! The cabin is exactly as pictured, comfortable and CLEAN. We got rained in unfortunately; however, we went grocery shopping before we arrived and had everything we needed to make the stay worth while. Definitely would come back given the opportunity, thanks Pat!

Off the beaten path was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Pat was a very gracious host, and even had a bottle of wine waiting for us for our anniversary. We would certainly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a secluded getaway.

We had a great stay at the cabin in the woods. There were 6 of us and we had adequate space. The cabin is very nicely decorated and very, very secluded. It has the hunt club feeling, but with the extras that make it quite comfortable. The hostess was very accommodating for our extra needs. We plan to return!

I’m not sure where to start. What an amazing place and an awesome host. Make no mistakes, “Off the Beaten Path” is quite accurate. This cabin feels so secluded, even though you’re just a hop skip and a jump from the farm and a short drive into downtown Floyd. There is plenty of exterior lighting to help when you’re coming in after dark, or if the pitch darkness of the woods, isn’t your favorite thing. The cabin was great. The first thing you see when you come up the drive is the large deck. I wish we would have had even more time to just sit on it and enjoy the view of the woods and creek. We also got to get a glimpse of some local wildlife in the woods above the cabin. There’s a nice grill sitting in the back just ready to go. The interior of the cabin is great. It just makes you smile as soon as you walk in. Pat really took the time in getting all of the details just right. It just makes you feel at home. Because there was only 3 of us, we lived in the downstairs, but of course we did some exploring. The upstairs is simple and cozy. with plenty of room for 6 others. My toddler son slept on the couch right outside of the master bedroom and it worked out wonderfully. The bathroom is small, but has everything that you could need and is spotless. The towels are awesome. The kitchen was just the right size and immaculate. There’s a full size stove and refrigerator, a microwave, and toaster. The water tastes clean and fresh and the refrigerator has an ice maker. There is plenty of space to eat for a whole cabin full. Pat set us up for breakfast with a full selection of cereals, milk, and orange juice. The coffee/tea/hot cocoa/sparkling juices bar in the house was crazy amazing. I could have just left my wife sitting there at the table beside it and she would have been perfectly content. Talking about details, my son was so excited when he found the candy jar. It’s the little things, and Pat has thought of them all. The living room has comfortable couches, so we lounged together in the evenings when we were winding down. We did a lot of reading, but there is plenty to keep you entertained. There is internet access, Local TV, streaming and even a cool selection of games upstairs. The bedroom was a great size. The bed was a little more firm than we’re used to, but our last mattress purchase makes us a little biased! After one night, we were perfectly happy. The bottom line is that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Pat checked in with us to make sure everything was okay for us and it certainly was. We look forward to visiting Off The Beaten Path Cabin again. Thank you Pat for making our trip so special.

I joined Airbnb on a Sunday, and within a few minutes found what I needed in the “Off the Beaten Path Cabin”. The listing was very reasonably- priced… in a tranquil and private location, and that was just what our family needed during a difficult time! Everything was in perfect order, and all the amenities and little ‘extras’ welcomed us, making life easier during our three day stay. Pat was very communicative and available throughout, by email or phone, and when we slipped a wheel off the road during a rain storm, she and her family used their tractor to pull us out! Cooking out on the covered deck during the rain, we found ourselves perfectly dry, enjoyed a movie at night, and slept well in perfect comfort when air-conditioning was needed. We look forward to return trips to this cabin in the woods, and have recommended it to extended family and friends! Many thanks to the Pat and her family!

This is by far the best place I have ever stayed at. EVER. As a busy introverted mom who hasn’t vacationed in five years, I was craving quiet and Off the Beaten Path delivered just that. It’s literally the quietest place I’ve ever been. It’s the perfect blend of peaceful nature and modern convenience. Pat’s communication and service was stellar. It’s clear she spent a lot of time setting up this wonderful cabin. There were so many thoughtful touches in the decorations, the furniture, the fridge and pantry, etc. Really can’t say enough good things about my experience. It was like a dream come true. I’m already planning my next stay there.
