My parents, boyfriend and I had a great stay at the chalet. There is a bedroom downstairs and a trundle bed in the loft, so we had plenty of privacy for two couples. There is a small bathroom in the loft with a shower, so we had separate bathrooms as well. The propane fireplaces worked great for heat, and the view is AMAZING. We had a warm day in November and enjoyed sitting out on the deck. One note for AT&T cell phone service users – you might get a bar occasionally in the house, but will need to walk up the road to be able to actually send messages or make calls. Internet wasn’t available yet during our stay, but I hear that it is coming soon. This place is just off the Blue Ridge parkway, and although it feels very private it is in a development on the mountain and the neighbors were very friendly! We loved the rustic furnishings and were very comfortable. I recommend this place for a quiet, relaxing getaway and for enjoying nature, hiking, etc.

We really enjoyed staying at the chalet over the weekend. The Chalet looked new and clean. The view is gorgeous. My cell phone service was not available at the chalet or in the town. I would research the location beforehand so that you know where to go without looking up on the internet. Only a couple TV stations were available and they only had 2 DVDs. I suggest bringing your own if you want to stay in and watch movies. There were a couple essential kitchen equipment missing but Pat said she will add them in future. If you are planning to cook a lot, I suggest doing grocery shopping before getting in town as there is no major grocery store in Meadows of Dan. If you want to stay in the mountain being away from internet, TV, etc, this is a perfect place to stay. Very convenient to the Blue Ridge Pkwy. (UPDATE: Cable, telephone and internet is scheduled for install by the end of November. At that time we will also include Netflix for your stay. Additional kitchen items have been added, thanks to Yuki’s suggestion!)

We had the best time! The house is beautiful and has the most wonderful views. It’s very secluded and quiet, but is only minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Coffee and breakfast items were also included – and we were so happy to be able to bring our dogs too! Thank you Pat!

I can’t say enough how much we loved staying here, the house was immaculate, comfortable and the views were amazing. Wifi was very helpful as I had AT&T and never had a signal anywhere. Close to wineries and the town of Floyd where we enjoyed dinner and live music. Would absolutely stay here again.

Great view and beautiful cabin! The pictures don’t quite do it justice. Everything was well stocked. Cozy and inviting stay.

We had a wonderful stay. The chalet exceeded our expectations. The home was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The views from the porches were spectacular. We were only a few minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and about 20 minutes from the lovely hamlet of Floyd. We hiked the Buffalo Mountain trail where at the top of the mountain we had a 360 view of the valley. Pat is a wonderful host and very responsive. She was so sweet to accommodate our request for non dairy milk. I can’t wait for another opportunity to stay at the chalet. We loved it so much that we added an extra night to our stay…we would have stayed even longer but it was already booked.

Great place to stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin, which was less than 5 minutes from Chateau Morrisette and Mabry Mill. Secluded, private, and a great view. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved the chalet so much! And the quiet Slatemont neighborhood was charming. We took advantage of the house’s proximity to Buffalo Mtn with a sunrise hike. Quite beautiful. Also, the house is a convenient distance from Meadows of Dan, which made grabbing a couple forgotten amenities very easy. We plan to stay again in the future!

We stayed one night and everything was as advertised and then some. The cabin is clean and has a beautiful veiw. Pat left orange juice in the fridge, had a selection of cereal and coffee creamer for us in the morning and even left out a nice bottle sparkling grape juice that we drank with the kids. Its a very quiet neighborhood and a short drive to Chateau Morrisette. Money well spent, thanks Pat!

Great service, secluded getaway with a neighborhood in the wilderness feel! Highly recommended for a spring or fall retreat away from the pressures of the city.

We had a great 1-night stay at Pat’s cabin during a road trip down the blue ridge parkway. It was very comfy and welcoming. The view was incredible! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a nice dinner. Be careful following GPS to this place – it sends you to the completely wrong location on steep narrow roads. Once we figured out where to go check in and out was easy. I’d recommend to anyone.

WOW! This place is BEAUTIFUL. I was a little worried about a mountain house…I didn’t want there to be bugs or for it to be too “woodsy” (I know, I know…I sound like a city girl). But seriously, this place was amazing. It is so clean inside. It feels like a brand new home. The decor is just beautiful. I LOVED the quilts. The kitchen came stocked with orange juice and milk (just a heads up, its a single serving of oj and a small carton of milk…we were a crew of 7 and weren’t expecting that…and there isn’t a store anywhere close. BUT it still was very generous and the tap water was just fine:) . The kitchen is also stocked with Keurig pods and little boxes of cereal. And the views. It is SO BEAUTIFUL. And so peaceful. I highly recommend this place!

Definitely recommend this place. Beautiful views, quiet, and come with everything you need for a good time. Either with family or friends. More space than pictures can do justice. The local area is breath taking as well.
