    Awesome!
Pros….Awesome cabin, beautiful view, not far from the blue ridge parkway. Polite accommodating……Only Con is difficult to get to with a motorcycles especially after dark ( gravel steep section of road) but my entire group of motorcyclist will definitely be back with the family in our jeeps and cars we can’t wait!

    Awesome log home
Best log cabin that I’ve ever rented. Immaculate, welcoming, secluded. Directions were easy to follow to arrive at this VERY secluded cabin. View was gorgeous, calming, soothing. This is not a typical rental. It has a gourmet kitchen, 3 attractive bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, laundry room, screened-in back porch, living room with fireplace, leather sofa and two leather rocker-recliners. And then there’s the front porch with rocking chairs, table and chairs and a porch swing. You’ll want to sit there forever to enjoy the beautiful view, listen to the sounds of nature and soak up all the peace and quiet that you need. There is a television and DVD and (limited) WiFi if you just can’t break the habit. Don’t hesitate to rent this cabin. You won’t regret it. In fact, you’ll leave there planning for a return trip. Hint: buy your groceries before you get to Meadows of Dan.

    The house is gorgeous!
It is nested in the woods, with great privacy and a beautiful view. Overall, the stay was comfortable. However, the kitchen is under equipped, so bring measuring cups, spoons, baking sheet, etc. if you plan to do much cooking. The shower temperature never rose above lukewarm. Even so, it is a lovely stay and setting. [UPDATE: Kitchen supplies have been updated and the temperature of the water heater has been corrected. Thanks for the feedback!]

    Beautiful home, beautiful location!
We came here for a VA Tech football game, and to visit our cadet daughter. The property is clean, well equipped, with a beautiful view! It is a bit secluded, but that was perfect for the quiet we were looking for. A great front porch with a view. We will be back over the next four years! Thank you very much for being so accommodating!

Although we only stayed the one night, it was a great place to relax before getting back on the road. No “city” noise and very secluded. Had everything we needed and I really appreciated the at home feel and the attention to detail that our host took care of. Didn’t really have to check in or out like the hassle at traditional hotels. Didn’t see a single person during our stay. Excellent place to stay if you are looking for solitude yet I know our host was on standby if we needed them for anything. Can’t wait to bring the entire family next year.

We really enjoyed our stay here!
Wish we could have stayed longer. The surrounding area is beautiful, I would definitely take advantage of the hammock. The house is stocked with everything you could need, especially the kitchen. We cooked dinner and had no issues at all. The layout of the cabin was great for 2 couples (just had to flip a coin to see who got the large room downstairs)! Pat was very responsive and friendly. We will hopefully be returning some day for more adventures in the area.

This lodge was perfect for a getaway! Pat was prompt with her responses and more than happy to answer questions I had leading up to our stay. Would definitely come back for a longer trip!

If your looking for a quiet secluded vacation or getaway this cabin is more than perfect. From the location, to the scenic views, to the small town, to the cabin itself, everything was more than we could have asked for. Booking the cabin & checking in/out were all very easy to do and with no hassle. Pat provided milk, OJ, cereal, coffee, hot cocoa, AND firewood which helped make our stay even more enjoyable. We loved how the cabin was secluded on its own little piece of land and how much privacy we had. The kids loved it as well, from playing soccer outside to swinging on the hammock, to playing with Lincoln logs that were already at the cabin; they did not want to leave. Thanks again Pat for everything, we had one of the best weekend getaways we’ve had so far.

The lodge was fantastic. We were very comfortable and had a great time cooking in the kitchen and sitting by the woodstove. It is remote in a wonderful and quiet way and a nice drive to Floyd. We climbed Buffalo Mtn and it was great .
